Ultimate comfort beans on toast

  • 1 can of crushed tomato

  • 1 can of rinsed and drained cannellini beans

  • 1 tbsp tomato paste

  • 1 tbsp honey

  • ½ finely chopped white onion

  • 1 tsp smoked paprika

  • [restrict]

    Salt and pepper

Lightly sauté the finely chopped onion on a medium heat until the onion becomes translucent. Add paprika and drained beans and sauté for a further minute stirring constantly.

Add in tomato, tomato paste and honey and bring to a simmer. Season to taste.

Serve on toast (we recommend Sophie’s comfort bread) with lashings of butter, grated cheese or a poached egg on top.
