As part of her ANON series, Liadán Hynes talks anonymously to a mother of four about her abusive ex-partner who, in the past few days, attacked her home. She talks about feeling trapped, having to be constantly vigilant, constantly nice in the hope of keeping him calm.
She also talks of her past experiences with homelessness and living in a hotel with her small children, and how, because of Covid-19, she is cut off from her network, including the weekly women’s group support which has aided her recovery from addiction.
